Without Face was formed in 1997. The first, introducting demo released at the beginning of 1998, and it was followed by 2 Years intensive concerting in Hungary. The band appeared on many selection albums, (for example the Metal Hammer Hungary - Power Hung(a)ry '99, or Let the Hammer Fall II., Gothica 2000, etc.).
The first album, entitled "Deep Inside"was out in June, 2000 , distributed by Hammer Music Productions in Hungary, Japan, Romania, Slovakia. The album mixes gothic, progressive and thrash metal to a unique mixture, with the 2 vocals, the haunting synth and guitar melodies, and with the complex drums. Lyrics are inspired by E.A.Poe, H.P. Lovecraft and H.W.
Longfellow. "Deep Inside" got prominent good album reviews in every magazines or fanzines. The band played with "The Kovenant", "Zeromancer", and "The Gathering", ''Anathema'' in Hungary. In February, 2001, the band were signed bythe American Dark Symphonies Records.
The new lebel re-mastered the band's first album, and re-released it with a brand new cover, and with a CDR part.
In 2002 January, the band got an offer from Lee Barrett, from the English Elitist/Earache Records for a 4 album contract. So, the new album, "Astronomicon' was released by them, on 17/07/2002 in Europe and on 23/07/2002 in the United States. The album got superlative reviews including "Album of the Month" in the English Metal Hammer.
